FAQ

How Destroy The Markets works.

Short answers to the questions that matter most when using the dashboard and research tools.

Where do the numbers come from?

The public indicator directory includes economic, Treasury, WTI spot, and broad-dollar series distributed through FRED, plus monthly gold from the World Bank. FRED links identify the original publisher; gold carries its source, license, and methodology notes. Directory coverage, vintage coverage, and other warehouse datasets have different scopes. Follow each indicator’s source link and our Methodology and Data Refresh Status pages for the relevant definitions and freshness.

Does AI create the data?

No. AI is not the source of numeric truth. The server reads structured observations from the warehouse, calculates the relevant statistics, and then gives that verified context to the model for explanation.

What does the D / Destroy button do?

Destroy opens a contextual research view for the item you clicked. For supported indicators it can show the current metric, recent movement, historical percentile, z-score, range, related indicators, and an AI-assisted explanation of those verified facts.

Is this investment advice?

No. Destroy The Markets is an information and research product. Nothing on the site is a recommendation or solicitation to buy, sell, or hold a security or other financial instrument.

Can economic data change after it is published?

Yes. Many economic releases are revised. That is one reason the platform stores historical observations and retrieval context rather than treating every first print as permanent truth.

Why can news and economic data tell different stories?

News headlines are a discovery layer reflecting what publishers are covering. The economic dashboard is a structured-data layer. The two can diverge, which is often useful context rather than an error.

How does beta access work?

The beta is free. Public pages are open to everyone, while analytics access is by invitation. Registering an account does not automatically enable analytics or AI features. For access questions, use the support channel on our Contact page.

What are the Pro plans?

Pro pricing is USD $9.99 per month or $99 per year. Live paid checkout is not yet open. Your Plan & billing page shows your current access and available billing options. Registration alone does not grant Pro access. See the subscription terms for renewal, cancellation, taxes, and AI allowances.

How do I sign in or reset my password?

Open Sign in and use the password-reset link if needed. If you still cannot access your account, email support@destroythemarkets.com. Never send your password or reset link. Our response target is two business days.

How do I save or export research?

Run a study in the Research Lab, then use the save or CSV controls available for your account. Find saved studies in My Research. Changing study settings clears the previous export; run the updated study before downloading again. Analytics, saved research, exports, and AI can have different access requirements.

Why is a result unavailable?

A missing observation, insufficient overlapping history, unavailable vintage, or temporary service issue can prevent a result. We do not fill those gaps with invented values. Check the dates and transformations, read any message shown with the tool, and visit Data Refresh Status or Contact / Support if the issue continues.
